01Overview
KlinPDF ("the app", "we", "us") converts images into PDF documents. This policy explains what information the app accesses, how it's used, and the choices you have. We wrote it to describe what KlinPDF actually does — not a generic template.
The short version: the images you choose are processed to build your PDF directly on your device. We don't operate a server that receives or stores your photos as part of the conversion process.
02What we collect
KlinPDF is designed to minimize what it collects. The categories below cover everything the app may access:
Information you provide
- Images you select — from your gallery or camera, solely to build the PDF you request.
- PDF settings — page size, orientation, quality, and margin choices you configure for each document.
- Passwords you set — if you choose to password-protect a PDF, that password is used to encrypt the file locally and is not transmitted to us.
Information collected automatically
- App usage and diagnostics — basic, non-identifying technical data (such as crash reports and app version) that helps us fix bugs and improve stability.
- Advertising identifiers — on free-tier accounts, our ad partner (Google AdMob) may use device-level advertising identifiers to serve and measure ads, as described in the Advertising section.
- Purchase records — if you subscribe to Premium, the app store (Google Play or the App Store) processes the transaction; we receive confirmation of your subscription status, not your payment details.
03How images are handled
This is the part most people care about most, so we're being specific:
- When you pick images from your gallery or take a photo with the camera, they're loaded into the app's memory to display in the Select Images and reorder screens.
- PDF generation — compressing images, applying your chosen quality and page settings, and assembling the final document — happens locally on your device using on-device processing.
- The finished PDF is saved to your device's storage (and appears in My PDFs). It is not uploaded to a KlinPDF server as part of normal conversion.
- If you use Share, you control where the PDF goes next — WhatsApp, email, cloud storage, or any other app you select from your device's share sheet. That transfer is governed by the privacy policy of whichever app you choose.
- Premium's optional cloud backup feature, if enabled, uploads your PDF library to secure cloud storage so you can restore it on a new device. This only happens if you actively turn the feature on.
04Permissions we ask for
| Permission | Why KlinPDF needs it |
|---|---|
| Camera | To let you photograph documents or pages directly for conversion. |
| Photos / Storage | To let you select existing images and to save the PDFs you create. |
| Notifications (optional) | To let you know when a PDF has finished generating, if enabled. |
You can review and revoke any of these permissions at any time from your device's system settings. Revoking a permission may limit the related feature (for example, denying Storage access prevents saving PDFs).
05Advertising
Free-tier use of KlinPDF includes ads served through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage signals to serve relevant ads and measure performance. You can review Google's own practices in the Google Ads Privacy & Terms documentation.
Upgrading to Premium removes all advertisements and the associated ad-network data collection within the app.
06Purchases & subscriptions
Premium subscriptions are billed and managed through Google Play or the Apple App Store. KlinPDF never sees or stores your card number, billing address, or other payment details — that information stays with the app store and its payment processor.
We receive only a confirmation of your subscription status (active, expired, or cancelled) so the app can unlock or lock Premium features accordingly.
07Storage & retention
Your generated PDFs, app settings, and conversion history live on your device's local storage for as long as you keep them. Deleting a PDF from My PDFs removes it from your device. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored app data, except anything you've separately shared or backed up elsewhere.
If you've enabled Premium's optional cloud backup, copies remain in that cloud storage until you delete them or disable the feature.
09Security
Password-protected PDFs are encrypted using industry-standard encryption before being saved. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data within the app, but no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
10Children's privacy
KlinPDF is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required by your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can address it.
11Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing (such as ad personalization). You can exercise most of these directly within the app:
- Delete individual PDFs or your entire library from My PDFs.
- Revoke Camera or Storage permissions from your device settings.
- Opt out of personalized ads through your device's ad settings.
- Cancel your Premium subscription anytime from your app store account.
For anything not covered by in-app controls, reach out using the contact details below.
12Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as KlinPDF evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the revised policy.
